A semi-figurative painting depicting a scene from the Recusancy period of the 16th century.
The painting started life as scrap, a by-product of other work.
But out of the shadows forms appeared and in experimentation, new opportunities revealed. As the title suggests what was waste refused to be trashed and instead the work gradually pointed backwards in time into a period where hide and seek was most definitely not a game.
