EXHIBITION: 8th April – 2nd November 2025. Ripon, UK
The landscape sculpture, Pylon by John Elcock has been selected for the 2025 Sculptures in the Landscape Exhibition at The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park in Yorkshire.
The Himalayan Garden is a 45 acre woodland garden established by Peter and Caroline Roberts in 1996 and home to the North’s largest collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias. The garden is also home to a permanent collection of 90 contemporary sculptures. In 2025 these will be augmented by 60 new temporary sculptures, including Pylon, from across the UK.
John has previously indicated that Pylon ‘appears to have the uncanny ability to act passively or actively dependent on context’ and he looks forward to its final siting in this beautiful garden, an opportunity for visitors to reflect on the special quality of sculpture to powerfully animate its environs.
Gardens open for the 2025 season on Tuesday 8th April:
